SYNERGY
had an ordinary week until Friday. Then they found the synergy and put
together an astonishing Round the Island Race. Owners Perry Moy, David
Spence, and Henrik Pedersen are right three. Crew Bob Cousineau and Andrew
Wilson left. |
|
At
the close of every day the crews from 214 racing boats gathered at "the
tent" alongside The Oar to rehash the day's races. |
|
The
Block Island Boat Basin was where many of the 105's had dockage. There
were at least a dozen here. There would have been one more if TERN had
not gone aground several times on the inside. |
|
The
Oar. Racers sit on the deck with a fantastic view of Old Harbor and have
a beer or a Mudslide after the races. If you go outside the Harbor early
to get your bottom cleaned, you can get a decent breakfast there when
you return. |
|
Here
is ALL RIGHT after a week of racing. She had a better regatta than last
year's Rolex, for sure. Don't ask! Hugh McLean and his son Ken had her
back for their sixth Block Island. |
|
Linc
Mossup had his THE CAT CAME BACK at the primo spot at the end of the dock. |
|
The
owners party was in its usual location across from The Oar. It was hosted
again by Jim Sorensen of WET LEOPARD. Note the leopardskin flag to mark
the spot. |
|
The
wedding photographer herded all these "cats" into one place
for the J/105 group photo to commemorate the event. That's Glen Hunter
(bowman on WET LEOPARD) and his new bride Kelly making nice-nice in the
middle. |
